On 11 November, 2025, for the first time in the history of the world, Reece Bailey completed HIS first solo at Gillespie Field. Watching with exuberance was his friend and fellow Plus One PPL student Steven, his lovely wife Sarah, and his proud flight instructor. Congratulations Reece!!! To commemorate this historic event, a flight of three Great Lakes biplanes made a pass over the field and entered the pattern to land. (O.K., so they were coming in anyway, but it was still a pretty cool site!)
COAST TO COAST FLIGHT with SR 22T (N237RJ)
The SR 22T is the right plane for this kind of trip. With 3 POB and baggage, you can fly easy 2h30 min legs, which is just right for the passengers, und you are still in limits with the weight and having enough reserves, to reach an alternate. To fly to high altitude airports (or airports with high Density altitude) the turbo of this plane gives you always enough power, to ensure safe take off´s.
