Five Stars Isn’t Enough by Rick Stout, December 22 2023 Kathleen is amazing. She is super detail-oriented and truly loves teaching to the A+ level – which is what you want. Don’t expect to get away with any B or C grade performances for long. She takes it upon herself to get you to that top-notch level. She’s got her syllabus and her agenda to get you ready for your checkride. And she will make sure to cross every t and dot every i. I don’t know of any actual statistics, but I would bet that her first-time checkride pass rate is higher than most of her peers. She will build your knowledge and your confidence as she builds your skills.
It also amazes me how adept she is at getting things done. Kathleen can charm the grumpiest of airplane owners and get them to keep their planes in top-notch condition.
Another great thing is the community of friends and contacts she has built. Kathleen nurtures friendships among good people and she is always planning fun events and outings. I’ve been privileged to come along on some of these. They are always a blast!
I can’t say enough about Kathleen… not only is she a great flight instructor, but she’s a fantastic person with a great personality and always makes learning and flying fun!

10/10 instructor! by Taylor Edwards, December 4 2023 I just passed my PPL checkride with Kathleen and I am so grateful for her knowledge and support through this process! She is very well connected and organized, making it easy to see what needs to be done. She will hold you accountable and is always there to help and answer questions during flight lessons and outside of them. She has a ton of experience making her very reputable, and wants you to succeed as much as you want to!

Outstanding Flight Review by Steve Craffey, February 19 2023 I am a fellow CFI and needed to complete a flight review. Kathleen's approach is to gather data in advance and look for the best opportunities to improve performance. Her feedback to me was insightful and accurate. She takes her duties as a CFI quite seriously and I was pleased with her approach.

An Exceptional Person and Instructor! by Natalie Cowan, October 6 2022 Just passed my PPL checkride thanks to Kathleen and I am so grateful! My time as her student was so enjoyable. She creates a comfortable learning environment offering constructive feedback but also lots of encouragement. I never felt awkward or stupid when asking questions.
Kathleen offers ground sessions and gives study guides which were essential to my success in the checkride oral portion. My examiner even commented on my strong ground knowledge.
Kathleen has a gift as a community builder and will introduce you to many other pilots through her hanger events.
Those who know her have nothing but accolades to give her and for good reason. I recommend her and will come back to her when I continue my training for other certifications!

One of the BEST! by Lior Goodman, October 1 2022 I started my instrument training back in 2013 in New England. Like many, life and work got in the way, and despite having accrued all of the required flight hours and satisfied all of the other prerequisites, I was unable to take my checkride and have “Instrument Airplane” added to my certificate.
Fast forward some years and life, having different plans for me, sent me roughly 3,000 miles southwest of my "home base".
Approximately 10 years after my "last" training flight, I took my "first" training flight all over again as I had rekindled my determination to finish what I had started almost a decade prior.
In search of an instructor, I found Kathleen "the closer" Devlin. More on that later.
It turned out that Kathleen was not only who and what I was looking for in an instructor but also exactly who and what I needed. Kathleen brought an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to the training environment which is always a student's benefit.
Having begun my training on your standard six pack, the specifics of ADS-B, GPS, and ForeFlight were rather new to me. Without missing a beat, she was able to propel me into the world of advanced avionics and technologies without breaking a sweat... well, maybe a little sweat (but let's just blame the heat).
Kathleen’s appeal as an instructor does not stop there. She understands the complexities and frustrations that all aspects of flight training bring and, without losing patience, helps her students overcome those obstacles and seeks out ways to alleviate those frustrations. She aims to instill confidence in her students leaving them not only as smart pilots but also as safe pilots, all without demanding perfection. As a plus, she does all this while making the training environment fun and comfortable.
But wait! There’s more. Kathleen drives to promote aviation not only through her students in the air but also on the ground through her numerous community-building efforts to which she remains so passionately dedicated.
In fact, it was at one of her community building events where she was dubbed “the closer” due to her numerous students who chose her to help them complete their already started and partial/incomplete training, myself included.
This fun factoid is more than just that, however. It is a testament to her knowledge and competence as a flight instructor. While it's true there are many CFIs and CFIIs to choose from, it will not take you long to realize the benefits of training with Kathleen, and you will not find a better training environment this side of the magenta line.
Blue skies and tailwinds, always!

Knowledgeable, passionate, and inspiring! by Lindsay Grant, August 4 2022 Kathleen is the reason I didn’t quit flying! She’s absolutely incredible. She truly values her students and your success is her success; your learning is her priority. Flying with her was enjoyable and every lesson I learned something new. I felt beyond prepared for my check ride. She is a talented pilot and instructor. I’m grateful for the foundation of flying I built with her. I honestly cannot say enough positive things. I highly recommend her as your instructor!

Christopher Anzaldo
Knowledgeable and Passionate Instructor by Christopher Anzaldo, July 27 2022 I mean it when I say Kathleen is by far one of the best instructors I've ever had. She helped me get up to speed with instrument training. On all the flights that I did with her, she was very professional, caring, and most importantly patient. You can tell right off the bat she has a passion for teaching and wants to see her students succeed.
I was able to learn easily because again she was really patient with me and made the lessons fun.
She deserves all the positive feedback on here because she's earned it. I want to do commercial training with her in the future as I know I'll be getting quality training.
Thank you for helping me, Kathleen!

Excellent flight Instructor by Daniel McGinty, July 7 2022 I've been flying since 1978 and the love of flying is still as strong today as when I first began.
