N1201F – Cessna Skyhawk (C172)

Foxtrot (N1201F) is the fourth plane we have added to the Red Door Aviation fleet. She is a C172N with the upgraded 180 HP SuperHawk Engine STC done by Penn Yan. We did the same exact panel upgrade as we did for Chicken Hawk (N75733), GreenFlash (N80906) and Victor X-ray (N734VX). Our goal at Red Door Aviation is to continue to provide quality and availability to the Plus One Flyers community.  Foxtrot has an added feature that some of the cross country flyers will appreciate.

Aircraft Description

Foxtrot (N1201F) is the fourth plane we have added to the Red Door Aviation fleet. She is a C172N with the upgraded 180 HP SuperHawk Engine STC done by Penn Yan. We did the same exact panel upgrade as we did for Chicken Hawk (N75733), GreenFlash (N80906) and Victor X-ray (N734VX). Our goal at Red Door Aviation is to continue to provide quality and availability to the Plus One Flyers community.  Foxtrot has an added feature that some of the cross country flyers will appreciate. She has two Auxiliary Fuel tanks. One in each wingtip. These Aux tanks add a total of 23 extra gallons of usable fuel. The details of this Aux fuel system are summarized in a paragraph below and documented in the STC flight manual supplement provided in the plane… As with all of our planes, Foxtrot comes with the full spectrum of Avionics upgrades. ADS-B In/Out, VFR/IFR charts, and approach plates are always standard with all Red Door planes. Our G3X MFD/PFD, GTN750 TXI, and GFC 500 autopilot panel is what I would consider the perfect panel and is the standard for all of our planes.  This G3X platform is extremely intuitive and perfect for all forms of flying. Low time student pilots can get a head start on the technologies of today while working the pattern. She is an Instrument student’s dream with synthetic vision, Geo-reference approach plates and IFR charts all built in. We will be personally updating the SIM cards when each update comes out. Commercial time builders can turn the auto pilot on and enjoy the flight. We wanted to make all the planes in our Red Door fleet the perfect training platforms. However, I think even seasoned professional pilots will be impressed with this C172. Come check her out, she is in Shelter Spot 19. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me any time.

This Plane comes with the Flint Aero STC Auxiliary Fuel tanks.  Foxtrot (N1201F) has two Aux tanks in each wing tip. Each aux tank has a total fuel capacity of 12 gallons. 11.5 gallons are usable. There is an access panel on top of each wing tip that opens up to reveal the fuel cap. That is where you would fill each aux tank. Inside the cockpit above the pilot and copilot side window is a fuel gauge. One for each aux tank. Down by the fuel selector there is a left and a right side fuel pump switch. To transfer the fuel from the aux tip tank, just turn on the pump and it will start pumping fuel from the aux tank to the main tank on that same side. Make sure that you have less than half a tank in the main before you start transferring fuel. Fuel pumps must be off during take-off and landing phases of flight. These auxiliary tanks provide a total of 23 extra gallons of usable fuel. With the 40 usable gallons in the mains that is a total of 63 gallons of usable fuel. From a weight and balance standpoint, the loading of the fuel in the aux tank is the same arm as the fuel in the mains. So when doing the weight and balance you would just add total fuel including mains and aux fuel at the same fuel arm specified in the POH.

This Plane owner requests approval for any trip longer than two days.  We Obviously want to try and accommodate everyone. However, this plane was really created to help support the student pilots on the field. If you want to book this plane for more than one night away please call or email me and make your request. Special Note: Aircraft is Equipped with ESP (electronic stability protection) this protects the aircraft from exceeding the published envelope. Essentially if you wanted to stall the plane and ESP is armed the plane won't stall. So if you are going to practice maneuvers such as stalls or steep turns you need to deactivate ESP. You can do this by touching the autopilot control bar above the attitude indicator on the G3X ten inch screen. Tap the bar and the G3X autopilot control panel will come up. You will see that ESP is active with a green indicator. Tap the ESP button to deactivate. This is very simple to do, but if you are unfamiliar  it can sound confusing. Trust me, it’s easy. Once ESP is disabled it will remain disabled until either you reactivate it or the plane is shut down and turned back on.
