If You Want to Learn from the Very Best
When I first joined Plus One Flyers and was looking to advance my skills and experience, I started asking around for instructor referrals and no matter who I asked, the same name kept coming up over and over again: Travis Phillips. I first worked with Travis to earn my Complex and High Performance endorsements, and then later to earn my Instrument Rating, my proudest achievement yet as a pilot. Travis teaches to strict standards; he will train you to be fanatical about your precision with heading and altitude; he will train you to "aim small" so that you "miss small." All of which is to say, you are being trained to rigorous, professional standards. Honestly, I don't even taxi the same anymore after training with Travis! It's not just that I know more than I did before, or that I have another pilot credential under my belt; I think the thing about working with Travis for which I am most grateful is the pride that comes from knowing that I was trained by someone to the same professional standards to which he holds himself accountable as a commercial airline pilot. And it's not a coincidence that many of the most respected and proficient pilots in Plus One Flyers, including other CFI/CFIIs, were trained by Travis themselves.
A Great Pilot and instructor
Travis is the CFI to work with! He is knowledgable, skilled and has an excellent method for passing these skills on to his students. Flying with Travis has prepared me to be a safe and dilligent super pilot! From my first lesson through my instrument ticket, Travis was a great mentor. (side note: ask him about the $100 tri tip sandwich)
Fantastic Instructor!
Travis is a fantastic CFI and CFII. He is very patient and knowledgeable. You will learn a ton flying with Travis and he does an excellent job of preparing you for your checkride. He is awesome!
Excellent Instructor
Excellent CFI, CFII - one the best. Very knowledgeable, you will learn your stuff with Travis and he will prepare you for your check ride! I highly recommend him.
