New to KCRQ, 1976 Piper Archer II. Once the centerfold for Flying Magazine’s February 1976 issue, and now brought back to life for our members. This Piper has a newly overhauled motor and prop. New paint and graphics, and N4323X also has new interior. A beautiful Piper that is IFR certified and powerful! This is such a comfortable cross-country ride, and it’s great for learning to fly.
All door keys are Plus One Keys and the ignition is the original key to the plane. The ignition key is located in the binder for the airplane. All Fuel is self-serve on the North Ramp (space #106), and there is a porta potty next to the plane. We try to always have the plane topped off for your flights,…….”try”!!

Aaron goes above and beyond any other owner I have dealt with renting in P1. His attention to detail is incredible. This airplane is remarkably clean (as in, not dirty) compared to other planes I've flown in the club. It's got all the trimmings in the interior, and is a joy to fly. 77N has been cared for dearly, and renting it is not your typical club rental experience. I'll be back for more.

This plane needs a lot of TLC, it feels unloved and neglected. Things like the big hole in the ceiling upholstery, loose switches, loose seats... it leaves you with an uneasy feeling about the general safety of the machine and a depressing feeling about the overall state and exorbitant cost of ancient GA planes these days. With that said, it didn't leave me stranded or show signs of mechanical issues.

I have 30+ hours on this aircraft and flew it during the last half of my instrument training and also for the check ride in 2020. Terrence is a fantastic owner and keeps his plane very clean, airworthy, and mission ready! The plane itself is very stable in all three axes which make it a terrific instrument trainer. The 430W GPS is a classic and everything you need for IFR flight with GPS approaches. In early 2021, Terrence removed the old DG and installed a Garmin G5. I just recently flew an IFR XC and this upgrade makes a huge difference. It's fully integrated with the 430W and the HSI provides automatic waypoint updates based on the GPS flight plan. Amazing! Cannot recommend highly enough. Go fly!

I flew this aircraft for an initial Club checkout, as I have the majority of my 3000 hours flying Beechcraft. I was very disappointed to discover the Garmin 530 is in fact not a WAAS unit, contrary to the listing, as I consider that to be a minimum equipment requirement for IFR. I spoke to the owner, who followed up on my flight to see how I liked the aircraft. He said he was not aware of the listing problem, and plans to invest in a new unit as the next aircraft upgrade. The IO-520 engine is very smooth and powerful. Flying characteristics were a delight--pure Beechcraft.

I have taken 7577N on a couple of small trips. On the first trip I was absolutely hooked. The plane was amazingly clean, stocked with useful avionics, has a phenomenal autopilot and is a smooth flyer. The best story I have with the plane was with a friend of mine and his girlfriend. The aircraft was so smooth, she fell asleep in the back seat! I was also pleasantly surprised when Aaron left a note for safe travels, that was much appreciated. I plan on taking this aircraft to Phoenix and Sedona later this month, and I couldn't be more excited. Only minor complaint is that the Intercom ICS is a bit confusing, but that's me being very nit-picky.

Great to have a clean and cost effective plane in the club. It's obvious the owner takes good care of it, it doesn't have oil dripping all over the cowl, it has nice wheel pants, the interior is not falling to pieces.. just an all around great plane! Certainly making it my "go-to" now for single engine ops You'll note the other reviewer didn't put 5 stars for avionics, I'll also give it 4 stars. The avionics and panel are totally fine. It's just not sporting G5s and a 650/750.. (which would push them to a 5/5) but does a PA-28, or really any "trainer" need that stuff? The 430 works great. PS - for a 160 horse this plane climbs superbly well, that's one healthy engine!

I'm pretty sure this is the best 172 in KMYF and surroundings. Overall great performance, well maintained, beautiful classic 6-pack, paint and interior looks in great condition and the owner seems to be a person who takes good care of his airplane. If you do the things right you shouldn't have any inconvenient either with the airplane or the owner. I'm definitely flying this airplane from now and forever. My favorite 172.

Never renting this plane again! Old six pack, old GPS, especially when most of the PlusOne planes at least have the G5’s. Poorly maintained interior of the aircraft, to the point where my passenger was very unsure of flying in the plane. And to top it off, rude owner! But the 180 hp useful load is like the only redeeming quality of this aircraft.

This airplane is a pleasure to fly! Frank worked hard to update it with an Aspen Evolution PFD and an AV-30C backup. The JPI engine monitor gives plenty of information to fly the plane efficiently. The interior is pristine, and the engine runs well. This is clearly a plane that is well maintained.

Pros: Strong engine, Great climb rate, Advanced avionics | Cons: Seat does not go up or down and cannot be pushed back far enough for people with long legs. Due to the seat and yoke position, my knees interfere with the yoke. I am happy that the electric trim is installed however, it is slow and I find myself having to use the manual trim above my head.

Denny takes very good care of his airplane. It is by far the nicest offering at KSEE. He also owns the Redbird Sim which I highly recommend for IFR Currency and practicing any type of emergency situations. The sim also offers robust syllabi and GIFT training curriculum. 5 stars all around.

What this aircraft lacks in useful load, it makes up for in speed. A recent flight to KSBP and back averaged 120K ground speed on 11 gph. The fuel injected 180hp engine runs smooth and strong. The larger fuel tanks make up for the higher fuel burn over the 160hp engine in other Skyhawks. I also appreciate the cup holders and more substantial, comfortable seats for the longer flights. Really nice avionics too!

I had the privilege of flying N106HP with a CFI today in a back to back High Wing vs Low Wing comparison to see if I had a preference for my coming training. I do favor low wings and this aircraft's finish is excellent and that A/C was incredibly nice to have on a hot Gillespie day. Super stable in angle of bank turns and for this newbie's observation much easier to maintain altitude and angle of bank in a turn in this aircraft than the 172N I flew earlier in the day. I'm 6'3/250lbs so I was filling the cockpit fairly well but if I was 5" shorter and 50lbs smaller, this aircraft would be a perfect fit.

I flew 87J for the first time for my annual flight review. Pre-flight inspection revealed an immaculate airframe and paint scheme that rivals a brand new aircraft. The entire firewall forward looks brand new and the interior is in excellent condition. It's hard to believe this aircraft is about 55 years old. The avionics are outstanding as well. The dual G5 setup provides all the information you need in a reduced instrument scan space. The radios and audio controller are crystal clear. This airplane climbs very well and has great cruise speed and just a slight pull to the right. While landing, it demonstrated good elevator authority, but slightly less rudder authority as compared to its younger cousins. The windscreen is clean and still visible even when flying directly into the setting sun. My only critique is related to the design of the seat, seat rail, and yoke position and has nothing to do with the condition, rigging, or outfitting of 87J. The seat does not move vertically and the forward position that I required for full rudder control put my knees squarely in the way of the yoke. Hopefully, this won't be aproblem for you.

Externals look clean and new, but more importantly, the aircraft performed like a champ. Still was able to make an 800 FPM climb at 4000 ft with 2 pilots up front. Avionics worked like a charm. Tuned up the ILS while on the visual approach to RWY 28R at KMYF and verified it works. Definitely a great addition to the club!

I was hesitant to submit this because the A/C is already busy and hard to schedule, and I felt that this would increase the "exposure" and it will be even harder to get my hands on the yolk of this aircraft. This is very will maintained, clean machine with upgraded avionics. The owner is very pleasant, takes good care of it. Very much recommended and that air-conditioning is a life saver on a hot day. Fly it once and you'll get hooked.

Your standard 172 with a nice GTN-650 and Garmin G5. Strong magnetos and strong brakes. DO NOT overprime her though- the checklist suggests 3 primes which is what I did on a COLD start as the checklist would direct. This might have been too much as I did end up having to go lean, and full throttle procedure in suspicion of overpriming with only 3 pumps.

Took this new AA5 out to SBA last week. No autopilot, but great cruiser trimmed out. In addition to the awesome GTN650, it has a very cool digital round AI/HSI with moving map - first of its kind that I've seen. You can scroll through HSI/GPS/VLOC or show the moving map. You can also set altitude reference, heading, OBS, etc. by touchscreen. I wasn't getting ADSB-In traffic, however, on the GTN650. Nice paint job. Great for the weekend hop! An AP, ADS-B flightlink from the GTN to ipad, and music inputs would put this at 5 stars on my list.

I'm not a huge fan of the AV-30 instruments but maybe one day they will be replaced with Garmin. Aside from that, nothing but glowing remarks for this plane.

I have a soft spot for G1000's. It is one of the original G1000's so it isn't WAAS. Gotta be careful not shooting an RNAV and using LPV minima but aside from that, it's pretty solid.

The 210 is a great platform and this plane is fun to fly. She is fast, nice looking, and smooth. My biggest gripe is that I wish the owner would update the avionics. If this plane had a nice avionics upgrade, I would bet it would be flying its wings off. I’ll fly it on occasion to keep proficient, but I definitely think it needs a makeover.

This is one of my go to airplanes for cross country trips. I am not fond of the hangar it is in but I understand there is little the owner can do because of the city lease issues. The Avidyne IFDs take a LOT of getting used to, especially if you are familiar with Garmin. Overall though, it works well and gets the job done. A little more TLC would make it a way better 22 but it works.

The G5s are nice but it would be substantially better if there was a little more effort put into the panel. It is like flying a 50’s Chevy Truck. It isn’t really my first, second, or third choice but it is decent enough if you need to go a tiny bit faster and want a retractable gear.

The best things about this airplane are the GTN 650 GPS and the STEC autopilot. There is no COM/NAV 2, but I just use the monitor function on the GTN650 to pick-up ATIS and other transmissions. The engine monitor is a nice addition as well. The 180 HP motor allows excellent climb performance. The DG presesses too much to be reliable for IFR training but the value this aircraft offers can't be beat.

I've flown a variety of aircraft, but nothing as modern as a DA-40. This airplane is very well maintained, and equipped with a WAAS G1000 and excellent integrated autopilot. The airplane's handling is very different from a Cessna, but something you can adapt to fairly quickly with good instruction. It's a very light airplane with a very lightly loaded wing. The great visibility also means lots of sunlight. It can get pretty toasty on a hot day.

Flew 44886 for the1st time today. Great airplane with nice avionics. Flies very nicely. Slick airframe and wings make it faster but a little more work to land than older Hershey bar wing PA28s. Exterior looks like a newer plane. Interior is nice and clean. Would recommend for traveling or taking new passengers to relieve some anxiety of flying in older planes. Will use this plane more often.

His hanger has a GPU, extra parking and everything you need to prep the plane. The power tug is a must for moving these planes by yourself and is always working.

This plane is my favorite! The 50 gallon long-range tanks make it my first choice. Plus, the avionics are fantastic with dual G5s and both a GTN 650 & GNS 430. They have WAAS and traffic and the data base(s) seem to both be updated monthly. Love the redundancy. Exterior and Interior are better than or equal to the rest in the club.

I would like this plane more if it was better taken care of. It has a lot of potential, as do most of the Duchess in the club but it needs some TLC to make sure it gets things fixed quicker. It works for a trainer but just barely.

The dual G5/650 was easy to adapt to coming from G1000s. Plane's appearance is perhaps a little dated, but everything is in good shape. Owner is also a really nice guy; seems to be at the airport a lot and was willing to chat/answer questions.

It's falling apart to the point where I felt unsafe flying it, and scrubbed the flight for me and my passengers. The bare minimum of legally required maintained is clearly all that is ever done to this plane.

Good flyer. Had a tough time starting it, but finally got it running. The idle limit is set very low. Just have to be carefull when retarding the throttle. The rear snaps on the cover are broken off, so cannot cover the aircraft after flight. Overall, good aircraft for local flights.

Super clean, great aircraft for IFR or VFR training/short cross countries. Only downside is that none of the avionics have bluetooth for foreflight (that I could find) but you can always use a Stratus/Sentry. I’ll definitely be taking her out again.

Nicely updated plane. Traffic awareness is lacking and you'll want to bring a Sentry along. Nice alert system for engine monitoring if temps push past EGT limits. Dave, the owner, is fast to fix things, happy to answer questions and is usually around the airfield.

Super pretty inside and out. This is NOT your regular PA28 though. Has Cessna style throttle and mixture controls and all the switches are in odd places. Trim is overhead and electronic trim and PTT are not parts of the yoke.

This is more a doer than a looker. Traditional six pack with Garmin 530. Flys great. But looks well worn. Tricky start so definitely chat with the owner or read the inside of the binder. Parking it under the awning is tricky at night given little to no lights. Interior needs love and so do side windows for visibility.

I have been flying this plane consistently for months now and it flys really well. Interior and exterior are always kept clean. Engine is very reliable and always runs smooth. Avionics and GPS work great and easy to use. Both Com 1 and Com 2 work great as well. Definitely the best deal for price and quality in Plus Ones Fleet.

I’ve flown a lot of different 172s, including a lot of time in modern 172SPs, and this guy really performs. Easy 1000fpm climbs with 3 adults. The FBO it’s in is super fancy. No step on the side to check fuel, but they’ll bring a ladder for you.

Strongest 182P in the fleet. Departed from a high DA airport with 3 other 200# dudes + gear and it climbed like a champ. The guages are very accurate, and I particularly appreciated the carb temperature gauge. The G3X and radios work great. Could not get the autopilot to engage however, even after letting it go through "test" mode. The owner is very responsive and you can you tell he takes pride in having a nice aircraft for his pilots. I just hope the aircraft doesn't get treated like a "rental" now...

Took this plane on a family cross country to KMEV. Great useful load; super clean inside and out; and great avionics. The only thing that could make it better is an autopilot but it trimmed up beautifully and was a dream to fly.

This aircraft comes packed with all the necessary equipment to complete any flight, whether it is a cross country in VMC or IMC. Also, I recommend taking a few flights during the day in VMC if it is your first time flying an aircraft with all glass panels, like this one. Overall, excellent condition, flies great, and nicely insulated. One thing that is appreciated while using non-noise canceling headsets is when an aircraft cabin can block most of the engine noise. The panels are also very intuitive, and provide reliable engine monitoring readouts that help keep suitable power through different phases of flight.

So it doesn't have G5s or GI-275. Big deal, the plane starts up great (even hot), flies fast, strong, and and climbs well. You've got a 530 and dual NAV needles with an STEC autopilot. Not sure what else you need. Too bad the O2 doesn't work but it's a great plane! I'll be flying it more

I took this plane XC to Arizona and the avionics (I think it's a G750), trim, and interior were all quite comfortable for the long ride. The photos and description don't mention its avionics, but this is surprisingly one of the better Archers in the fleet because of the Bluetooth and ADSB-In. A little difficult to start the engine, but it is otherwise a very capable IO-360.

Just took my checkride in this plane. It’s beautiful inside and out, has had major work done and updates. Love the EGT gauge. People are underestimating this plane. The outside is completely fine, just the paint is dull. The avionics are sweet! Garmin GNS530 to at least see where you are in relation to airspace but really have to use those eyes to find traffic! Classic six pack was awesome to fly with, although I do find this plane a bit pricy for its avionics package. Climbed with 4 people and full tanks, 800 fpm. Will definitely use her in the future.

Only real strike against her is that there is no link to Foreflight to get ADS-B in. Will definitely be using her for instrument training.

I’ve flown most of the Skyhawks in the club and this is hands down the best flying airplane for stick and rudder skills. The pedals are light, roll and pitch are crisp. It glides well and trims easy.

I am sure this plane was beautiful on the inside a long time ago, but it is showing its age. POH is a mess. "Quick" checklist is NOT for this plane. Nice avionics: Dual G5 & GTN650, but supplemental data not up-to-date. Older but nice COMM panel & #2 NAV-COM. Speaker works! Nice ENG instruments. Solid doors and locks (thank you!). Either get a checkout or download the manual off Schedule Master (or both!) if not familiar. I will add this aircraft to those I fly regularly.

I think it’s one of the newest aircraft in the fleet and although I finished are probably original it’s got that new airplane feel. Great avionics and super comfortable and capable auto pilot. One can definitely tell the owner is taking very good care of the airplane. It has a pitot tube cover (most club planes don't), and things are organized in a storage bin (with cover!) in the baggage compartment. Classic Instruments yet look very new and very easy to read.

This is an excellent aircraft with advanced avionics. A giant GTN 750, 4x GTX 275s rounds out the a great IFR platform. Garmin GFC 500 auto pilot reduces your workload and a powerful 180 HP Lycoming for over 1400 lbs of useful load.

I took this airplane for several cross countries, including my first trip to Vegas. A solid, easy flying, and easy starting Archer II. The GTN 750 just spoils you, and it's very easy to use. The only issue is that it does not have an autopilot, but as long you properly trim and keep an eye on it, you shouldn't have a problem. This aircraft is definitely on my shortlist of cross country aircraft.

My compliments to the aircraft owner. We loved renting this bird. I was shocked to see how mordernized this vintage 172 is. Frankly it is much better equipped than some lter model 172's. No squawks at all. Will rent again!

I flew this plane with two other pilot friends for a cross country flight over the Southwest and I have to say that it performed really great. Low oil consumption, high climbing capability and above all a brand new all Garmin panel recently upgraded. I really appreciated that the owner Neil answered all my question in near real time.

Chicken Hawk is the poster-child of what a rental should be; it's reasonably priced, modern, and very clearly loved. That's also it's biggest disadvantage, it's absurdly busy and gets more busy as more people like me discover it. It's one of VERY few 172s in Plus One Flyers that don't leave me feeling disappointed at best, and deeply unsafe at worst.
finding it was the primary reasons I decided to start my IFR instead of leaving Plus One Flyers altogether. I was so disheartened by the state
schedule and cost of planes in POF that I thought I might just give up flying until I finish the RV-14 I'm building. The schedule for 733 is miserable no doubt

Just flew this plane yesterday for about th7th time. Absolutely LOVE this plane. the 180HP upgrade is awesome and makes it perform like an S. Pedro was at the plane yesterday and showed me a few things about the plane I didn't know. He is such a great guy! I look forward to flying this plane much more and any of Pedros other planes too! Absolutely can't beat this plane for price and performance.

I've flown this aircraft twice so far and cannot complain. Basic instruments work as expected and the plane flies and handles smoothly. Owner is friendly and responsive. He even has a Sentry in the plane for your use, which I think is great and wish more owners would do the same. I will certainly be renting again.

Convenient ramp access with your vehicle and next to fuel pump. Excellent paint and seats. Older steam panel, but solid VOR/LOC and Garmin 430. Great audio panel (non Bluetooth). Music aux input and USB charging. Great hand flyer. Has a Piper autopilot, but I haven't used anything other than heading mode yet. Will be a first choice for easy xc and IFR.

For the price, I would not rent this airplane again. It seems clear that pride of ownership is missing. The interior is trashed and the airplane is generally way to pricey for the value received.

This plane is pretty run down cosmetically. It could use some TLC. Big hole in the ceiling, seatbelt is coming apart on the right seat, and dirty exterior. Plane flies well and has nice comms (mic did keep getting stuck though), but the overall appearance definitely needs work. I was very disappointed that is costs $145/hr with 160HP and looks the way it does. Much nicer planes in the club to fly at that price.

Great flying aircraft, lots of power in a small package, radio panels are a bit dated and take some getting some used to, but otherwise great aircraft. With most of the MYF based pipers being booked out or under maintenance, a new panel would have this plane booked continuously.

ChickenHawk (and it's sister, Green Flash) is an awesome plane to take out for either a local training flight or a long XC; tons of climb power and useful load (for a 172) and the avionics + AP quite literally can't be beat. Plus, the owner is a great dude who I swear takes care of squawks before schedulemaster can even update the plane's status. 5/5 stars, there's a reason it's always booked so far out!

People aren't kidding, this bird climbs like crazy. Avionics are good (only improvement would be if it got a GTN 650 or 750 but that's just because I'm spoiled) and I'd be confident taking this bird on long flights. Just prepare to have everyone taking pictures and giving you a thumbs up when you're taxiing around, the paint job is a hit with everyone!

My buddy and I took off in this plane from MYF. After 5 min of climbing at Vy, the oil temp was redlined so we turned around and landed. When we spoke to the owner about it, he was very apathetic and claimed it was just a normal thing in the summer time.

75F is an amazing aircraft! It flies incredibly smoothly, and its performance is phenomenal! The paint is showing its age, but this is no big deal. The panel is clean, and the avionics are hard to beat! She's one of my go-to planes now! I highly recommend it!

This plane flies like a dream. Had 0 issues getting in and out of Big Bear (9200’ DA). Plenty of power, excellent exterior, and the dual G5s are terrific. This will be my new go to cross country plane! The only thing to note is that this plane does not use the standard key to start. Dont be a fool like me and waste 20 minutes trying.

This plane is a real sleeper. It's in great mechanical shape, the avionics are well thought out and very functional and the engine runs awesome. You can tell the owner cares a lot about ensuring the plane is in tip top mechanical condition. I will be flying this plane a lot in the future.

The condition of this airplane is not great. I had a time scheduled for this plane the same day it came out of maintenance and I received it with 4 qts of dark black oil in each engine, missing POH and w&b, landing gear covered in oil/fluid, multiple inop items inside the cockpit, and multiple missing switches. This airplane is not airworthy without those paper documents (AC 120-76E - electronic copy cannot replace required paper documents). When something is so obviously not airworthy it makes you wonder what else is lurking behind the owner operated maintanence shop.

This is by far, the best 172 in the club. The owner is a solid guy, super nice, very responsive. The plane is in near impeccable condition for a 50 year old bird. I will rent Pedro's planes any day of the week.

I got to fly “Iron Man” one day out of a five day trip to San Diego and wish I had it every day. It flys great, has a clean new interior, and a nice avionics setup for IFR training. This was a great plane and I had good communication with the owner who does 100hr inspections on it (not all n the club do). Would fly it again!

I flew N734NF for 4 out of 5 days on a West Coast trip to get some IFR training time on the back end of a work trip.
but a few items led to the 3-4 star ratings I left. First was that the right brake was very soft and it took 3 days and many calls/texts to get it looked at. The ELT battery was due to expire part way through my 5 days of flying and that too took a lot of phone calls and some arguing with the shop to get it fixed. In the end it was fixed
but caused me a lot of stress with no other planes to fly my week in CA (I joined/reserved this months in advance). There was also a seat rail AD with only 10hrs left at one point. If the plane did not have the soft brake and flew more

but idled very low (< 500 RPM) and struggled on a lot of climbs (barely making 500 fpm at 4000 ft with 2 people and cool weather) and felt underpowered compared to other 160HP Cessna's I've flown.
the avionics may need some troubleshooting. The GNS430 WASS was not pulling in a WASS signal and the ILS glide slope was not coming in on the G5
leaving me to only RNAV approaches. The VOR was intermittent at best (we did not try a VOR check).
but N20543 flew really nice by comparison and had fully functioning avionics."

Nice power in the climb and in cruise. Give yourself an extra ten minutes on your first pre-flight to get used to the airspeed (mph vs. Kts) indicator and pattern speed conversions.

Flew 734RE for a training flight. All around it’s an amazing airplane! It handles beautifully, feels powerful and has a fantastic avionics upgrade! Exterior paint is showing its age but everything else this plane has to offer makes up for it! I highly recommend it!

… Enjoyed this plane! And will continue to enjoy this beauty.For those of us that predominantly fly Pipers, this Archer II was a absolute welcomed gift to us. And, the owners attention to detail, is unprecedented, and very impressive. Immaculately maintained. Flys smooth. Avionics are nicely upgraded. All preflight/inflight material is top notch. The resource material and descriptions on the website for this aircraft are extremely comprehensive and thorough.

This airplane May have been built-in 1963 but the owner has upgraded it to a very modern standard. This airplane has the useful load and performance that is better than most all other C172 regardless of age. One of my favorite airplanes in all of POF.
