Another very nice Archer II (PA28-181) has just joined the growing fleet at Gillespie Field! ‘Miss Kitty’ has a clean and comfortable interior that is a bit dated, but it is going to be completely redone in a few weeks. Right now, the avionics are pure 1990s with dual nav/coms, DME and ADF although she’s ADSB-out compliant and does have a single G5 installed. A GTN 650, dual G5s and possibly a GFC 500 autopilot is in this airplane’s immediate future. Once the modifications are complete this will be one of the nicest Archers in the state.
Although it wasn’t yet required to be done, last February she passed the eddy current wing spar inspection that some higher-time Pipers are now required by AD to have. She has a mid-time engine that has flown often and consistently since it was built to new specs. N2169F is parked in space #5 on the Plus One Flyers line closest to the long row of hangars.
