You're gunna love it.  New GTN 650 Touch screen and upgraded avionics, including ADS-B out.  Best of all, in-flight music!

"Red" is a 1981 Piper Archer II.  She is based at Gillespie Field at the based of the tower in the fuel pit row.  She's a Maroon and White airplane with a cockpit cover.  A great plane for VFR, IFR and Cross Country, this plane has a new engine and all interior is in great condition.  We're very pleased to be able to offer Red to the members of Plus One Flyers.  

There are no special checkout requirements to fly, just book it and go.  This plane will easily do 120-130 TAS and she just loves to fly.  

Roadmap:  We get a lot of questions about this so here you go.  Our 2 main priorities on the next round of upgrades will be an autopilot and new paint.  After that, we may upgrade the panel a bit more, but want to keep it as training-friendly as we can.

    Great airplane! I've flown it twice.

    This airplane flies REALLY well. With the new 650 GPS, it now makes sense to do your IFR training in a 650 equipped Cherokee out of SEE! I like having two comparably equipped aircraft for training... Prevents scheduling issues.

    She's not a beauty queen, but there is a roadmap to getting new paint and such. I'll be flying this more for sure in order to support that effort!

    Interesting note... I've purchased and downloaded the 650 GPS for X-plane. It uses the actual Garmin software, and pops up in the 'cockpit' so you can practice procedures. If you have a touch screen monitor, it operates just like the real deal, except the knob. Link the sim to your tablet, use 'PilotEdge' online air traffic control services, and download a Cherokee... It's a great way to prep for instrument lessons in this plane or 76V! The more you learn on the ground, the more you get out of your flight training.

    In short, you'll love this airplane!

  • Hey everybody... "Red" has recently had new plugs put in, a new left main tire, many adjustments to the engine and some other under the hood stuff. She's back on the line and ready for the next adventure. Sorry for the recent inconveniences with being down for some unexpected maintenance. Enjoy!

  • Very nice plane. The GTN-650 is state-of-the-art. Download the user manual (MS-Windows Sim available at garmin.com), get familiar with it, then go fly and enjoy!
